Biography
Andy Dyer is the lead singer and one of the co-founding members of the band.
He started singing in choirs as a kid and quickly progressed to performing arts class in high school where he would sing in school musical productions.
Forming his first band at age 12 called “the metal men” this band quickly dropped the cheesy name for another “Black Magic” which sounded like a 1970s soul band.
After high school Black Magic went their separate ways and Andy joined the melodeath band This Heinous Homicide (or THH for short) on bass despite his reputation as a great singer. THH broke up in early 2008 and Andy spent the rest of the year looking to form another band.
By this time Andy had struck up a lyric writing partnership with his cousin Bear and the two of them started putting together a new band in November of that year.
Named after the disused battery factory they rehearsed in, Exide became the first band Andy had been a part of that saw some serious success.
Their first EP “Skies on Fire” was released via MAS Records in 2012 and went on to sell 9k copies. A second EP called “Paralysis” was recorded independantly a year prior in 2011 but saw a more limited release of only 500 copies.
Exide went their separate ways in early 2013 for the same reason that most young bands do, one or two members want it more than the others and it all becomes harder than it ought to be.
Andy soon turned his sights on forming another band with the inital idea that Exide would be reformed with only himself Reece Lloyd and Bear from the original band.
Auditions were held for new members in March 2013 and the first on board was Declan Moore on lead guitar. Dec was quickly joined by Nat Hellier-alport on drums and Andy “Butter” Morris on bass and the original Methodemic line up was born.
During the hiatus of Methodemic Andy played briefly with Dec Moore in the band “Rummrunner” and in the AOR band “Heartfire” with one time Methodemic guitarist Dan Riley.
Andy Rejoined Methodemic once more when the band came back together in 2022 and the rest is yet to be written...
